Ads MCP Servers Compared: Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok
Meta, Google, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, X and Amazon now publish their own MCP servers; LinkedIn and Reddit do not. Which ones are hosted, which can change your campaigns, how each signs in, what the third-party options cost, and the one thing none of them can tell your assistant: which campaign produced revenue.

A year ago, connecting Claude or ChatGPT to an ad account meant a community project on GitHub and a developer token you had to apply for. As of October 2026, six of the big ad platforms publish a Model Context Protocol server of their own, and an assistant can read your spend, and on some of them create campaigns, from a sentence.
They are not the same thing, though. Some are hosted by the platform and some run on your laptop, some are read-only and some can spend money, and two of the platforms B2B teams care about most have no official server at all. This guide puts all of them in one table, explains the differences that matter, and ends on the question none of them can answer on its own.
Quick Summary: Which Ad Platforms Have an MCP Server?
In short
As of October 2026, Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, X and Amazon Ads publish official MCP servers; LinkedIn and Reddit do not. Meta's, TikTok's, X's and Amazon's can create and change campaigns (Meta and X create them paused); Google's and Microsoft's are read-only. Meta, TikTok, Microsoft and X host theirs, while Google's runs locally or on your own Cloud Run. For LinkedIn and Reddit the options are third-party connectors. Every one of them reports what the platform itself counted: spend, clicks and platform conversions. None knows which lead became a qualified opportunity or a closed deal in your CRM, so the cost per customer has to come from a second source.
The full comparison table is two sections down. First, the three distinctions that decide which server suits which job.
What an Ads MCP Server Is, and the Three Differences That Matter
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools on another system. An ads MCP server is the ad platform's API wrapped as such tools: "get campaigns", "run a report", "create an ad set". The assistant decides which tool to call, the server runs it with your permissions, and the answer comes back into the chat. Any MCP client can use any MCP server, which is why one server works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code alike.
- Hosted or localA hosted server lives at a URL the platform runs; you paste it into your client and sign in. A local one runs on your machine (or your own cloud project) and you install, configure and update it yourself.
- Read or writeA read-only server can report but cannot change anything. A read-write one can create campaigns, change budgets or upload audiences, so how it guards against an unwanted change matters as much as what it can do.
- How it signs inMost use OAuth with your normal ad account login. Some still want an app of your own registered with the platform, or a token tied to a cloud project. That step is where most setups stall.
There is a fourth difference that is the same for all of them: what data they can see. A platform's server sees the platform. That point gets its own section near the end.
Every Ads MCP Server in One Table
Official servers only, as documented by each platform in October 2026. Endpoints and launch states move, so check the linked docs before you build on one.
Official ads MCP servers as of October 2026
| Platform | Official server | Hosted or local | Read or write | Sign-in | Safety on writes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Ads | Yes, mcp.facebook.com/ads (open beta) | Hosted by Meta | Read and write | OAuth via Facebook Login for Business, user or system user token | Creates land paused; activation is a separate tool |
| Google Ads | Yes, googleads/google-ads-mcp (open source) | Local, or your own Cloud Run; hosted pilot for allowlisted users | Read only | OAuth or service account, Google Cloud project | Not applicable |
| TikTok Ads | Yes, TikTok for Business MCP Server | Hosted by TikTok | Read and write | Zero-code setup, reauthorise every 30 days | Not documented |
| Microsoft Advertising | Yes, partner.api.bingads.microsoft.com/ext/mcp/vnext | Hosted by Microsoft | Read only | Entra ID OAuth; own Entra app for Claude and ChatGPT | Not applicable |
| X Ads | Yes, ads-api.x.com/mcp | Hosted by X | Read and write | OAuth 2.0 user token, Developer Console app with Ads access | Campaigns and line items created paused |
| Amazon Ads | Yes, Amazon Ads MCP Server (open beta) | Hosted | Read and write | Partners with active Amazon Ads API credentials | Not stated |
| LinkedIn Ads | No official server found | Third party only | Depends on the tool | Depends on the tool | Depends on the tool |
| Reddit Ads | No official server found | Third party only | Depends on the tool | Depends on the tool | Depends on the tool |
Google also publishes a separate, local Google Analytics MCP server for GA4, documented for read requests only. It is useful next to the Ads server, and it carries the same limit: GA4 sees sessions and key events, not your deals.
Meta and Google: The Two Servers Most Teams Start With
Meta Ads MCP: hosted, read and write, in open beta
Meta announced its ads MCP server on 29 April 2026 as an open beta, part of what it calls Meta ads AI connectors. It lives at https://mcp.facebook.com/ads, hosted by Meta, and Meta's docs group its tools into seven areas: reporting, ad creation and management, catalogs, signals and datasets, Help Center search, A/B tests and lift studies, and the account's activity log. The minimum permissions are ads_mcp_management plus ads_read or ads_management. Your own Meta app is optional.
On writes, Meta's documentation is specific: write tools create campaigns, ad sets and ads in a paused state, and spend starts only when ads_activate_entity is called. There is no tool to delete a campaign, ad set or ad. Since a July 2026 update, people with full control of a business portfolio can set rules on what agents may do. Setup and permissions in detail: Meta Ads MCP.
Google Ads MCP: open source, read-only, you run it
Google's server is a GitHub project, googleads/google-ads-mcp, released in October 2025 under Apache 2.0. It is read-only in the current release: it cannot change bids, pause campaigns or create assets. It has three tools, the important one being search, which runs a GAQL query. It runs locally over stdio, or you deploy it to Cloud Run and point a client at that URL plus /mcp. Google mentions a hosted endpoint pilot for allowlisted participants, but there is no public Google-hosted URL to paste.
Access changed in 2026: Google's docs say the separate developer token variable was sunset on 9 September 2026 and that the API access level now ties to your Google Cloud project, while the GitHub README still mentions developer tokens. Read the docs page as the current one. The full setup and the alternatives: Google Ads MCP.
TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, X and Amazon
TikTok for Business MCP Server
Hosted by TikTok, announced in May 2026. Two endpoints: one loads about 400 tools at connect, the other about 40 core tools and finds the rest on demand. Reads and writes, budgets and bids included. No developer app needed; authorisation lasts 30 days.
Microsoft Advertising MCP Server
Hosted by Microsoft, read-only by design: "The tools never modify account data." Nine tools from accounts to change history, signed in with Entra ID. Claude and ChatGPT need your own Entra app registration. Free to connect.
X Ads MCP
Hosted at ads-api.x.com/mcp with 74 tools, from analytics to audiences and creatives. Campaigns and line items are always created paused. Needs an X Developer Console app with Ads access and a user with ads account access.
Amazon Ads MCP Server
Open beta since 2 February 2026 for Amazon Ads partners with active API credentials. Creates, updates and deletes campaigns, runs reports, and offers multi-step tools such as launching a Sponsored Products campaign from one prompt.
Two details are worth reading twice. TikTok's help page describes agents acting "without human intervention at every step" and does not say whether new campaigns start paused, so treat its write tools as live until you have tested them on a small account. And Microsoft's server is the cleanest choice when you want an assistant on search data with no risk of a change: it cannot make one.
LinkedIn and Reddit: No Official Server Yet
We searched LinkedIn's and Reddit's own developer docs, help centres and newsrooms on 25 October 2026 and found no MCP server published by either. Several third-party vendors state the same. If you see a "LinkedIn Ads MCP" or "Reddit Ads MCP" today, it is somebody else's server reading the platform's API on your behalf.
- LinkedIn Ads: Windsor.ai and Supermetrics read it and are both listed in Claude's connector directory; Zapier MCP has LinkedIn Ads actions; Markifact offers a read and write server. Part of why few exist: LinkedIn's Marketing API wants a developer app tied to a Company Page and approval for the Advertising API product. Options and trade-offs: LinkedIn Ads MCP.
- Reddit Ads: third-party servers on the Reddit Ads API v3, including a hosted one from Pipeboard and several community projects, some read-only and some with create, update and delete tools.
A third-party server holds your token
With a platform's own server, your login goes to the platform. With a third-party one, an extra company sits between your ad account and your assistant. That can be fine, but read its permissions and its data policy before you connect an account with spend on it.
Third-Party and Multi-Platform Ads MCP Servers
Aggregators put several ad platforms behind one connector, which saves a setup per platform and fills the LinkedIn and Reddit gaps. Prices below are what each vendor's own pricing page stated in October 2026.
Multi-platform MCP servers for ads, as stated by the vendors (October 2026)
| Tool | Hosted or local | Read or write | Stated price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windsor.ai | Hosted, in Claude's directory | Read and write (per its FAQ) | Free plan; paid from $23 a month |
| Supermetrics | Hosted, in Claude's directory | Reporting | Not checked |
| Markifact | Hosted | Read and write, approval before anything goes live | From $79 a month |
| Adzviser | Hosted | Not stated | From $48.99 a month |
| Pipeboard | Hosted or local | Read and write, campaigns created paused | Free tier, paid tiers |
| Zapier MCP | Hosted | Per app actions | Two Zapier tasks per tool call |
None of these was verified by Anthropic or by the ad platforms; Claude's own docs say Anthropic has not verified third-party servers. When Zapier, an API script or an MCP server is the better route for a reporting job is its own question, answered in MCP vs API vs Zapier for ad reporting.
Connecting a Server to Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code
Claude's connector directory had no connector published by Meta or Google for ads when we checked in October 2026, so the official servers go in as custom connectors: Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector, paste the URL, sign in. Custom connectors work on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise; on Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector and members then connect individually.
In Claude Code, a hosted server is one command. This is the line Meta's own docs give, with your Meta app id:
claude mcp add --transport http --client-id <META_APP_ID> meta-ads https://mcp.facebook.com/adsIn ChatGPT, custom MCP servers are added in Developer mode on web plans that offer it (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu, per Microsoft's setup guide), and on Business, Enterprise and Edu an admin has to switch Developer mode on first. Platform by platform, with the prompts that work: Claude for Meta Ads and Claude for Google Ads.
Letting an Assistant Change Campaigns: What Guards You
A read-only server can at worst give you a wrong answer. A write server can spend money. The platforms handle that differently, and the difference is worth knowing before you ask an assistant to "launch the new campaign".
Pros
- Meta and X create campaigns paused; nothing spends until a separate activate tool runs.
- Meta lets portfolio owners set rules on what agents may change.
- Google's and Microsoft's servers cannot change anything at all.
- Every write still runs under your own permissions, so an assistant cannot do what your login cannot.
Cons
- The confirmation before activation is the client's prompt, not a server gate; Meta documents no dry run.
- TikTok does not document whether creates start paused.
- A third-party server's safety is whatever that vendor built.
- An assistant acting on platform numbers alone can scale the campaign with the cheapest leads, not the best ones.
The last point is not a safety feature anyone can switch on. It is a data problem, and it is the reason for the next section.
The Gap Every Ads MCP Server Shares: No CRM Revenue
Each server reports what its platform measured: spend, impressions, clicks and the conversions its pixel or Conversions API received. For lead generation, that conversion is usually a form fill. Whether the lead was qualified, booked a demo or signed a contract happened later, in your CRM, and the platform's server cannot see it unless you sent it back.
Example: two campaigns as the ad platform's MCP reports them, and with the CRM outcome added
| Campaign | Spend | Leads | CPL | Qualified leads | Cost per qualified lead |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Campaign A | $3,000 | 60 | $50 | 6 | $500 |
| Campaign B | $3,000 | 30 | $100 | 15 | $200 |
Ask an assistant connected only to the ad platform which campaign to scale and it will pick A: half the CPL. Add the qualified counts from the CRM and B is the better campaign by a wide margin. Same spend, opposite answer. The figures are an example, but the pattern is the everyday one, and it is why your ad platform's MCP gives Claude the wrong CPL.
From the example: $3,000 ÷ 15 = $200 for Campaign B, against $3,000 ÷ 6 = $500 for Campaign A.
How LeadJourney Fits Next to the Platform Servers

LeadJourney tracks every click, form fill and call server-side and first-party, keeps the click IDs (gclid, fbclid, li_fat_id, msclkid, rdt_cid, twclid), and joins them to the deal in your CRM: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio, GoHighLevel, ActiveCampaign, Odoo, Zoho CRM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 natively. Spend comes in from Meta, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Reddit, X, Taboola and Outbrain Ads, so closed revenue sits next to cost per campaign, ad set and ad.
Its MCP server is one endpoint, https://api.leadjourney.io/mcp, with OAuth per application, and it works in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. It reads journeys and touchpoints, spend by platform, campaign and ad set, and CRM outcomes: stages, qualified counts, booked demos and won revenue. It changes only things inside LeadJourney: it builds and saves reports and dashboards and switches the attribution model or lookback window. It cannot pause a campaign, move budget, create ads or edit a CRM record, and it acts only when you send a message.
So the honest pattern today is two connectors in one chat. The platform's own server does the acting, LeadJourney supplies the revenue the platform cannot see, and you decide. That also covers LinkedIn and Reddit, where no official server exists: their spend and outcomes are already in LeadJourney's answer. The MCP connection is included from the Growth plan and available as an add-on below it. Client by client: LeadJourney in Claude and in ChatGPT.
Which Server for Which Job
Picking an ads MCP setup by the job
| The job | A good fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Quick questions on Meta spend and delivery | Meta's official server | Hosted, nothing to install, sees every Meta metric |
| Search reporting with no risk of a change | Microsoft's or Google's official server | Both are read-only by design |
| Building and launching campaigns from a chat | Meta's or X's official server | Creates land paused, so a launch needs a deliberate second step |
| LinkedIn or Reddit in an assistant | A third-party connector, or LeadJourney's server for spend and revenue | No official server exists |
| Several platforms in one connector | An aggregator such as Windsor.ai or Supermetrics | One sign-in, one bill |
| Which campaign produced revenue | The platform server plus LeadJourney's MCP | Only the CRM knows what closed |

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What marketers ask before they connect an assistant to an ad account.
Is there an official Meta Ads MCP server?
Yes. Meta hosts one at https://mcp.facebook.com/ads, in open beta since 29 April 2026. It can read reporting and create and change campaigns, ad sets, ads and audiences; new campaigns, ad sets and ads are created paused until an activate tool runs.
Is there a Google Ads MCP server URL?
Not a public Google-hosted one. Google's official server is open source (googleads/google-ads-mcp) and runs locally or on your own Cloud Run, where the URL is your deployment plus /mcp. Google mentions a hosted endpoint pilot for allowlisted participants. The server is read-only.
Does TikTok have an official ads MCP server?
Yes, the TikTok for Business MCP Server, hosted by TikTok, with one endpoint that loads about 400 tools and one that loads about 40 core tools and discovers the rest. It reads and writes, including budget and bid changes, and needs no developer app.
Is there a LinkedIn Ads or Reddit Ads MCP server?
Not an official one as of October 2026. Third-party connectors such as Windsor.ai, Supermetrics, Zapier MCP and Markifact cover LinkedIn, and Pipeboard and community projects cover Reddit. LeadJourney's MCP server also answers questions on LinkedIn and Reddit spend joined to CRM revenue.
What is the best MCP for marketing?
It depends on the question. For one platform's delivery and spend, that platform's official server. For several platforms behind one connector, an aggregator. For which campaigns produced qualified leads and revenue, a server that reads your CRM outcome per campaign, such as LeadJourney's, next to the platform server.
Can Claude manage my ad campaigns through MCP?
With a write server, yes: Meta's, TikTok's, X's and Amazon's can create and change campaigns, and Meta and X create them paused. Google's and Microsoft's official servers are read-only. Whatever the server, it acts under your own account permissions.
