The gap

Reddit starts the research. The credit goes to whoever closes it.

People read a thread, leave, and buy weeks later through a search or a typed URL. Ads Manager counts what its pixel sees inside its window; the deal happens later, in your CRM.

Reddit Ads attribution on its own

Honest about Reddit, blind to what happens next

  • The Reddit Pixel fires in the browser, so ad blockers, Safari and declined cookie banners remove conversions before Reddit ever sees them.
  • Ads Manager counts conversions inside the account's windows, 28-day click and 1-day view by default, so a deal that closes later credits nothing.
  • Reddit is a research channel: the reader clicks, leaves and comes back through Google or ChatGPT, and last click hands the sale to that search.
  • Optimisation stops at the event the pixel reports, so budget drifts to the ad groups that produce the cheapest sign ups, not the buyers.
  • Reddit only reports Reddit, so its conversions overlap with what Google and Meta claim for the same customer.
  • Onsite lead forms end on 30 September 2026, so a lead generation campaign only counts the leads your own form reports through the pixel or the Conversions API.
  • Spend never meets revenue, so cost per closed deal per campaign is a spreadsheet someone builds before the budget review.

Reddit Ads with LeadJourney

One journey per buyer, from the first Reddit click to the closed deal

  • Every Reddit Ads click is captured server-side with its rdt_cid, past ad blockers and declined banners, at 95%+ accuracy.
  • The click is kept on the visitor's LeadJourney Click ID, so when they return through brand search three weeks later, Reddit is still at the front of the journey.
  • The lead is followed through your CRM, stage by stage, to closed won, or through Shopify and Stripe to the paid order.
  • Qualified leads and won deals go back through the Reddit Conversions API with value, currency and the rdt_cid, so campaigns optimise on revenue.
  • Reddit is measured next to Google, Meta, LinkedIn, organic and AI search in one multi-touch model, so each sale is counted once.
  • Lead generation campaigns land on your own form, where the lead is recorded server-side and sent to Reddit before it is followed to the deal.
  • Spend is pulled automatically, so ROAS and cost per closed deal are live per campaign, ad group and ad.

How it works

Reddit Ads attribution in, closed deals back out

All three run on their own once connected. The first makes real Reddit Ads tracking possible, the second teaches delivery which clicks become revenue, the third gives Reddit the credit for the sales it started.

  1. 1

Server-side Reddit Ads tracking for every click

The journey starts recording before the Reddit Pixel would even fire.

    Reddit Ads

LeadJourney imports your campaigns, ad groups, ads and daily spend, and captures every click with its rdt_cid.

    Your website

On your site, sessions, page views, form fills and checkouts are tracked server-side, past ad blockers, Safari and declined banners.

The click is kept on the visitor's LeadJourney Click ID and joined to the lead at the form or the order, however many visits later that is.

Revenue, ROAS and cost per closed deal, live per campaign, ad group and ad, next to every other channel.

  2. 2

Send qualified leads and won deals through the Reddit Conversions API

So delivery optimises on buyers instead of sign ups.

    HubSpotSalesforcePipedriveShopify

Your CRM or shop reports the outcome as it happens: stage changes, deal value, closed won, the paid order.

LeadJourney attaches the value, currency and hashed email and phone from the record, then matches the event to the rdt_cid that started it.

    Reddit Ads

The event reaches Reddit through the Conversions API, server to server, with a conversion ID, so a pixel event for the same lead is counted once.

Delivery learns which clicks become revenue, so lead quality rises and the cost per customer falls.

  3. 3

Credit Reddit for the sales it started

Reddit readers research first and buy later, through another channel.

    Reddit Ads

A reader clicks a promoted post, reads, compares and leaves without converting. Reddit's click is recorded on their LeadJourney Click ID.

Days or weeks later they return through Google brand search, a ChatGPT answer or a typed URL, and convert there.

Multi-touch attribution keeps Reddit as the first touch, so the campaign that opened the journey shares the revenue instead of losing it to the search.

First touch revenue per Reddit campaign beside last touch, so the budget review sees what Reddit starts, not only what it closes.

Your CRM closes the loop

The revenue signal comes from the CRM or shop you already run

LeadJourney follows every Reddit lead into your CRM, or every Reddit shopper to the paid order, and reads the outcome back out, so the value ends up on the campaign that earned it.

You choose what counts as a conversion

Map any CRM stage or order to a Reddit conversion. Qualified lead, closed won, purchase, or all of them.

Lead quality becomes the optimisation target

When Reddit learns which leads qualify and which stall, it delivers to more of the first kind, so the price per qualified lead falls.

Sent server to server

No tag to fire, nothing for an ad blocker or a declined cookie banner to remove.

Reporting

The questions Reddit Ads Manager cannot answer

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney rather than an export project. Ads Manager stays where you buy, and LeadJourney shows what the buying produced.

  • Which Reddit campaigns produced the revenue we closed last quarter, not just the sign ups?

  • What does a customer from Reddit actually cost us?

  • How many deals started on Reddit and closed through Google brand search or ChatGPT?

  • Which ad groups, and so which communities, turn into buyers rather than clicks?

  • How does Reddit compare with Meta, Google and LinkedIn on cost per qualified lead?

  • How long does a Reddit lead take to close, and does our reporting window cover it?

LeadJourney and Reddit Ads Manager

Where Reddit Ads Manager ends and LeadJourney starts

Ads Manager credits the conversions the Reddit Pixel and the Conversions API report inside its windows. Both stop at Reddit's edge.

Reddit Ads Manager compared with LeadJourney, capability by capability

Keep Ads Manager. Feed it better data.

Ads Manager stays where you plan and buy. LeadJourney fills in the measurement underneath and returns the closed deals Reddit cannot see on its own, so your campaigns are judged on revenue and optimise on it.

FAQ

What Reddit advertisers ask before connecting

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

Does LeadJourney replace the Reddit Pixel?

It can run alongside it or instead of it. Reddit itself recommends the pixel and the Conversions API together, deduplicated on a shared conversion ID. LeadJourney's tracking is server-side, so it does not depend on the pixel, and its events reach Reddit through the Conversions API with a conversion ID, so a conversion the pixel also reports is counted once.

How is this different from setting up the Reddit Conversions API myself?

The Conversions API is a pipe: it moves events you already have. The hard part is having the right events. Reddit asks you to persist the rdt_cid yourself and to send each event within seven days of it happening. LeadJourney captures the click and the rdt_cid server-side, follows the lead through your CRM, enriches the event with the value and hashed match keys from the record, and sends it as the stage changes. A hand-built setup only ever knows what your website knows, which is still just the sign up.

Does Reddit Ads tracking still work with ad blockers and declined cookie banners?

Yes, that is the point of tracking server-side. The click, the rdt_cid and the visit are recorded on the server before an ad blocker, Safari or a declined banner can remove them, at 95%+ accuracy. Ads Manager keeps reporting what the pixel can see; LeadJourney shows you the measured numbers.

Most Reddit readers do not convert on the first click. Does Reddit Ads attribution still credit them?

In LeadJourney, yes. The Reddit click is stored on the visitor's LeadJourney Click ID, so when the same person comes back through Google brand search, a ChatGPT answer or a typed URL and converts, Reddit is still the first touch of that journey. Multi-touch models then share the revenue between Reddit and the channel that closed, instead of handing all of it to the search.

Reddit is ending onsite lead forms. What changes for lead generation?

Reddit sunset the onsite Lead Generation Forms API on 21 September 2026 and pauses the ads still using onsite forms on 30 September. Lead generation campaigns now send people to a form on your own site, and a lead counts only when the pixel or the Conversions API reports it. That is the setup LeadJourney tracks by default: the click and the rdt_cid are recorded server-side, the form fill becomes a lead in your CRM with its source, and the lead goes to Reddit with a conversion ID.

Reddit's Shopify app already tracks my store. What does this add?

Reddit's app installs a codeless pixel and syncs your catalog, and Reddit states that the Conversions API is not supported through it. LeadJourney reads the paid order from Shopify and sends it to Reddit server-side with its value, so an order the pixel missed still reaches Reddit, and the same order is attributed next to Meta, Google and email in one model.

HubSpot has a Reddit Ads integration. Why would I need this?

HubSpot's Reddit Ads integration, in beta, syncs campaign data and shows contacts and deals attributed to Reddit campaigns inside HubSpot. Keep it if you use it. LeadJourney records the click itself, server-side, follows each lead to the deal next to every other channel in one multi-touch model, and sends the qualified leads and won deals back through the Conversions API, so Reddit's delivery learns from them.

Which events can I send back to Reddit?

Any CRM stage or paid order you map: marketing qualified, sales qualified, deal won, a Shopify or Stripe purchase, or all of them. Each event carries the value and currency, so the campaign is judged on revenue rather than a flat lead value.

Can I see which subreddits produce revenue?

Per ad group, yes, and an ad group is where you choose the communities. Ads Manager breaks Reddit's own conversions down by community, but the click itself carries no community, so revenue is joined per campaign, ad group and ad. The cleanest setup is one ad group per community cluster: the revenue per ad group then reads as the revenue per set of communities you bought.

A deal closes two months after the click. Is it still attributed?

In LeadJourney, yes: the journey has no window, so the deal is credited to the campaign that started it regardless of the cycle length. Reddit credits a conversion only inside its click window, 28 days at most, and optimises on a 7-day window, so for a long cycle map an early stage that predicts revenue, such as the qualified lead, as the event delivery learns from. The report that matches the late revenue to the ad lives in LeadJourney.

Is sending CRM data to Reddit GDPR compliant?

Identifiers are hashed before they leave, you control which stages and which fields are used for matching, and nothing is sent that you have not mapped. LeadJourney itself processes and stores data in the EU, signs a data processing agreement, and tracks first-party and server-side, so consent decisions are respected rather than worked around.

Do I need a developer?

No. Connecting Reddit Ads is a sign in, the CRM connection is the same, and mapping stages to conversions is a settings screen. Most accounts are live in about 21 minutes, and our team will do the setup with you on a call if you prefer.

What does it cost?

The Reddit Ads integration is part of the platform rather than a paid add on. Plans are priced by the marketing spend you track, not by seats, so your whole team can share one workspace, and every plan starts with a 14 day free trial without a credit card.
