The definition

What is a lead overview report?

In short

A lead overview report lists every lead as one row: the person, the first source and the last source, the campaign and landing page, how they converted (a form, a call or a booking), and the stage and value your CRM holds for them today. Filter it by channel, stage or any CRM field, and open any row to the full journey from the first click.

  • One row per person

Not a count of conversions but the leads themselves, by name, deduplicated across forms, calls and return visits, so the report and the CRM hold the same people.

  • First source and last source

The channel and campaign that brought the person the first time, and the one they came back through to convert. Most leads have both, and a report that shows only one is guessing about the other. See lead attribution software.

  • The CRM stage on the same row

New, qualified, proposal, closed won or lost, with the deal value, read from the CRM and kept current, so the report shows what a source's leads became and not only that they arrived.

  • One click to the journey

Every row opens to the full path: each visit with its source and page, the conversion, and the CRM stages after it. The row is the summary; the journey is the evidence.

What the report shows

Every lead, where it came from and what it became.

First source and last source

Both are on the row. A lead that found you through a Google ad, came back from a ChatGPT answer and converted from the newsletter shows all three, and the report sorts by either end.

Campaign, ad and landing page, from the click

UTMs and click IDs are read on the first visit and kept with the person for months, so every lead carries the campaign, the ad, the keyword and the page they landed on.

Forms, calls and bookings, all leads

A form on the site, a call to a tracked number or a Calendly booking each create a lead row with the same source fields, so the phone leads stop living in a separate list. See call tracking software.

CRM stage and value, synced

The stage and the deal amount come from HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close or Attio natively, from Salesforce and 100+ others by webhook, and the source goes the other way onto the CRM record. See CRM integration.

Filter by channel, stage or CRM field

Show only the qualified leads from Meta this month, only closed deals over €10k by first source, only calls from organic search. Any mapped CRM field is a filter, and a filtered view saves as a report of its own.

One click to the full journey

Open a row and the path is there: every visit with its channel and page, the conversion, the CRM stages and the amount, on one timeline. See customer journey tracking.

Inside the report

One lead opened, and the new ones arriving with their source.

Lena Vogt is one row: first source ChatGPT, converted by booking a call, stage Qualified, €18,000. Open it and the path is there: the AI answer, the pricing guide three days later, the call on day eight, the deal HubSpot opened that morning.

  • Every visit with its source, campaign and page
  • The conversion with its type and time: form, call or booking
  • CRM stages and the deal amount on the same timeline
  • Click IDs and UTMs kept for months, so late converters still attribute

Live in 21 minutes

The lead overview report in three steps

No hidden form fields, no "how did you hear about us" dropdown, no export from the CRM.

  1. 1About 5 minutes

    Install

Add one script to your website on your own first-party subdomain. Every visit is recorded with its source, campaign, landing page and click ID, and kept with the visitor until they convert, however many weeks that takes.

  2. 2About 15 minutes

    Connect

Connect the forms, the tracked numbers and the booking tool that create leads, and the CRM that holds them. HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close and Attio connect with one-click OAuth; Salesforce and 100+ others through a webhook, Zapier, Make or n8n.

  3. 3Same day

    Map the stages

Tell the report which CRM stages mean qualified, customer and lost, and which field holds the value. From then on every row shows the stage the CRM shows, and the source is written back onto the CRM record.

Before LeadJourney, we had no reliable tracking concept for our five-figure ad spend. We were manually building spreadsheet and CRM reports, inaccurate and time-consuming. Within two days, everything was set up. For the first time, I know exactly what I pay per lead and which campaigns actually bring in the best-qualified prospects.

Common questions

The lead overview report, the questions buyers ask

What marketers and sales teams want to know before they stop asking leads where they heard of you.

Can I see which campaign and ad generated each individual lead?

Yes. Every row carries the channel, the campaign, the ad set, the ad and the keyword for the first source and the last source, plus the landing page. The data is captured from UTMs and click IDs at the first visit and kept with the person, so it is there when they convert, whether that is the same day or nine weeks later.

Does the report show the CRM stage and the deal value?

Yes. The stage and the amount are read from your CRM and kept current on the row: HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close and Attio natively with one-click OAuth, Salesforce and 100+ others through a webhook, Zapier, Make or n8n. The source goes the other way as well, onto the contact and the deal, so sales and marketing read the same record. The wider reporting setup is on the marketing reporting software page.

What if a lead visited several times before converting?

Then the row shows a first source and a last source, and the journey behind it shows every visit in between. The click ID and UTMs from the first visit are stored on your own first-party domain and kept for months, so a return through a different channel, a cleared cookie or a second device does not turn the lead into "Direct".

Are phone calls and booked meetings in the report too?

Yes. A call to a tracked number and a booking through Calendly or a similar tool create a lead row with the same source fields as a form, so the report holds every lead however they chose to reach you. The call tracking software page explains how the number is matched to the visit that dialled it.

My CRM says "Direct" or "Website" for most leads. Does this fix it?

That is the problem the report exists for. "Direct" in a CRM usually means the source was never captured, not that the person typed the URL. LeadJourney records the source on the first visit, keeps it with the person and writes it onto the CRM record when the lead is created, so the field fills itself. See lead source in the CRM.

Is a report that lists people by name GDPR compliant?

Tracking is first-party and consent-aware, hosted in the EU in Frankfurt, with a signed data processing agreement on every plan. The report shows the data your CRM already holds about a lead, joined to the visit that produced it, and nothing leaves your control. The GDPR and security pages list the controls in detail.
