Use case

Sales says the cheap leads are junk. Now you can check.

LeadJourney reads stage changes and disqualification reasons back per campaign, so every channel is priced in qualified leads, not form fills.

Same campaign, same 19 euro cost per lead. The difference is the verdict from the CRM: 24 of 312 leads survived qualification, so the cheap channel was the expensive one all along.

The problem

Cost per lead prices the form fill. Sales pays for what comes after.

The campaign report ends at the form submission, and the quality verdict is written in the CRM days later: a stage change, or a disqualification with a reason. Nothing carries that verdict back to the campaign, so the argument runs on anecdotes.

Why the argument never resolves

The verdict never reaches the campaign

  • Ad platforms optimise and report on form fills, because that is the last event their tracking can see.
  • Qualification happens in the CRM days or weeks later, on a call the campaign report knows nothing about.
  • Disqualification reasons are written on the CRM record and never travel back to the campaign that paid for the lead.
  • Two campaigns with the same CPL can close 30% and 3% of their leads, and the report cannot tell them apart.
  • So budget flows to the channel with the cheapest form fills, and sales inherits the volume.
  • The pipeline meeting runs on anecdotes: "the Meta leads are junk" against "the numbers look great".

The same campaigns with LeadJourney

Every CRM verdict flows back per campaign

  • Every lead is tracked server-side from its first ad click to its CRM record, at 95%+ accuracy.
  • Stage changes flow back from the CRM automatically, so each campaign shows how many leads actually qualified.
  • Disqualification reasons come back too, so you see not just that leads failed but why.
  • Cost per qualified lead is computed per channel, campaign and ad, next to the cost per form fill.
  • Qualified stages return to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as conversion events, so bidding learns what a good lead looks like.
  • The pipeline meeting starts from one table both teams recognise: campaigns priced in qualified leads.

The fix

Quality priced in the dashboard, fixed at the ad platform

Seeing the problem is half the fix. LeadJourney prices every campaign in qualified leads, then sends the qualified stages back to the ad platforms, so the algorithms stop buying the leads that never buy.

See quality per campaign in LeadJourney

The dashboard marketing runs on

  • Cost per qualified lead per channel, campaign and ad, next to the cost per form fill it replaces.
  • Disqualification reasons per campaign, so wasted spend has a name instead of a hunch.
  • Open any lead and read its journey and its CRM stages, so every number is checkable down to the click.
  • Atlas flags drops in lead quality as they happen, before a month of budget follows them.

Send the verdict back to the ad platforms

So bidding buys quality, not volume

  • Qualified stages flow back to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as conversion events, sent as the stage changes.
  • Run campaigns that optimise on the qualified stage directly, instead of on the form fill.
  • Bidding learns which clicks become revenue, so lead quality rises and the price per qualified lead falls.
  • Deal values ride along with the events, so value based bidding optimises against real numbers.

What changes

The questions the pipeline meeting can finally settle

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney, not a data project. Sales keeps working the CRM exactly as before; the verdicts simply start reaching the campaigns.

  • What does a qualified lead cost from each channel, not just a form fill?

  • Which campaigns produce leads that reach SQL, and which only fill the top of the funnel?

  • What are the most common disqualification reasons per campaign?

  • Is the cheap channel actually cheap once qualification is priced in?

  • Which audiences and creatives produce the leads sales actually wants?

  • Did lead quality improve after the ad platforms started receiving qualified stages?

FAQ

What teams ask before switching this on

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

How do I measure lead quality by marketing channel?

You need two things joined: which campaign produced each lead, and what the CRM decided about that lead afterwards. LeadJourney tracks the first from the ad click and reads the second back from your CRM as stages change, so every channel and campaign shows its qualified rate, its disqualification reasons and its cost per qualified lead.

How does LeadJourney know a lead was disqualified?

From your CRM. When a lead is moved to a disqualified stage, the sync carries the stage change and the reason your team recorded back to LeadJourney, where it lands on the campaign that produced the lead. Sales does not fill in anything new; the fields they already use are the source.

What is cost per qualified lead and how is it calculated?

Ad spend divided by the leads that passed your team's qualification criteria, excluding spam, no-shows and obvious mismatches. It is a more honest price than cost per lead because two campaigns with identical CPLs can differ tenfold in how many leads survive qualification. You choose which CRM stages count as qualified.

Will sales have to change how they work in the CRM?

No. LeadJourney reads the stages and fields your team already maintains, over a native integration or a webhook. If leads are being qualified and disqualified in the CRM today, the data this page describes already exists; it just never reached the campaigns before.

Can the ad platforms optimise for qualified leads instead of form fills?

Yes, and that is where this pays for itself. Qualified stages flow back to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as conversion events, so you can run campaigns that optimise on qualification directly. The algorithms stop buying the audiences that fill forms cheapest and start buying the ones that qualify, so the price per qualified lead falls.

Which CRMs does this work with?

HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio, monday.com and GoHighLevel have native integrations, and a webhook plus Zapier, Make and n8n cover everything else. Any stage model works: you map which stages mean qualified, disqualified and won.

How fast do I see quality per campaign?

Setup takes about 21 minutes, and tracking starts when the snippet goes live. The quality picture then builds at the speed of your own funnel: as new leads reach their qualification stage, the verdicts land on their campaigns. Most teams see the first cost per qualified lead numbers within days.
