Use case

Your marketing ROI is falling. The reports still look fine.

LeadJourney prices every campaign on the customers it actually closed, so the budget moves toward what returns money instead of what returns cheap leads.

Marketing ROI
2.4x, and where it leaks

Same quarter, same four campaigns, same spend. Meta Broad bought 1,175 leads at €80 and closed 9 of them; Google Non-brand bought 214 at €145 and closed 22. The cheaper leads cost seven times more per customer, and they hold 52 percent of the budget.

The problem

Your reports can price a lead. They cannot price a customer.

So the budget follows the cheapest leads, the only ranking the tools can produce. Whether those leads ever became customers is settled in the CRM, weeks later.

How a good ROI quietly becomes a bad one

Every decision made on half the outcome

  • Each ad platform ranks its own campaigns on cost per conversion, and a conversion is a form fill.
  • The campaign with the cheapest leads gets the next increase, because on paper it is the best performer.
  • Whether those leads closed is decided in the CRM, weeks or months after that report was read.
  • Nothing writes the verdict back, so the following quarter is planned on the same incomplete number.
  • It compounds: the more budget the cheap channel takes, the further the real return drifts from the reported one.
  • By the time the drop shows up in the annual figure, a year of budget decisions is already behind it.

The same quarter with LeadJourney

Both prices, on one yardstick

  • Every lead is tracked server-side from its first ad click, first-party, at 95%+ accuracy.
  • Spend is pulled automatically from Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft Ads and matched to the leads it created.
  • Stage changes and deal values flow back from the CRM, so each campaign carries the revenue it produced.
  • Every campaign shows two prices: what a lead costs, and what a customer costs. The rankings often disagree.
  • Journeys and click IDs are kept for months, so a deal closing in Q3 still reprices the campaign that ran in Q1.
  • The next budget decision starts from the return, so the drift stops where it was being created.

The fix

See where the budget sits, and what each part of it returns

Two things change the ROI: knowing which campaigns earn their share, and knowing it while the quarter can still be steered.

Every campaign, priced twice

What a lead costs, what a customer costs

  • Spend share next to revenue share, so a campaign holding budget it does not earn is visible in one row.
  • Cost per lead and cost per closed customer on the same line, which is exactly where the two rankings disagree.
  • Paid, organic, referral and AI search compared on one yardstick instead of on each platform's own pixel.
  • Open any deal and read the journey behind it, so a decision to move budget can be checked down to the click.

Early enough to act on

Weeks, not the annual review

  • Automated weekly and monthly summaries in email, Slack or WhatsApp, so a campaign that stops closing is noticed in days.
  • Ask Atlas in plain language, like "which campaign has the worst cost per customer this month", and get the report behind the answer.
  • Qualified stages and closed deals go back to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as offline conversions, so the bidding shifts with the budget.
  • Teams save 15+ hours a week that used to go into stitching spend and CRM exports together by hand.

What changes

The questions a budget decision actually needs

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney, not a data project. Your CRM stays the source of truth for revenue, and LeadJourney supplies the campaign behind every euro of it.

  • Which campaigns return more than they cost, and which have never produced a customer?

  • Which campaign holds the largest share of the budget, and what did it return last quarter?

  • What does a customer cost from Meta, from Google, from LinkedIn and from organic?

  • Which campaign's cost per lead is falling while its cost per customer is rising?

  • Where would the next ten thousand in budget earn the most, measured on closed revenue?

  • Did last quarter's budget shift produce more revenue, or only more leads?

FAQ

What teams ask before switching this on

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

How does LeadJourney improve marketing ROI?

Not by changing your ads, but by changing what the budget decision is made on. LeadJourney follows every lead from its first click into your CRM and reads stages and deal values back, so each campaign shows what a lead cost and what a customer cost. Campaigns that buy cheap leads nobody closes stop looking like winners, and the budget can move to the ones producing revenue. The gain is whatever that reallocation is worth in your account, which is why we do it on your own numbers on the call rather than promising a figure here.

Why did my ROI fall while my cost per lead kept improving?

Because those are two different prices, and only one of them is in your campaign reports. An ad platform optimises for the conversion it can see, and if that conversion is a form fill it will reliably find cheaper form fills, including from people who never buy. Cost per lead falls, cost per customer rises, and nothing in the platform shows the second movement. That is the gap this page is about.

How does LeadJourney know which campaign a deal came from?

Every visitor is tracked server-side from the first ad click, and the journey is stitched to the lead the moment the form is submitted. When that lead moves through your CRM, stage changes and deal values flow back, so the deal is credited to the campaigns that produced it. You can open any deal and read the journey behind the number.

Do I have to move budget by hand?

The decision stays yours. LeadJourney shows the return per campaign and can send qualified stages and closed deals back to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as offline conversions, so the platforms optimise toward buyers while you set the split. Nothing changes your bids or budgets on its own.

Our sales cycle is months long. Does this still work?

That is the case it is built for. Click IDs and journeys are kept for months rather than sessions, so a deal closing in September still reprices the campaign that ran in March. Until deals close you can steer on the CRM stages in between, which move much earlier than revenue does.

How is this different from the ROAS my ad platforms report?

Ad platforms grade their own homework: each reports the conversions its own pixel saw, they routinely claim the same lead twice, and none of them know what a deal was worth. LeadJourney measures from your website and your CRM, so every platform is judged on the same yardstick and the return is computed on revenue that actually landed.

How long does this take to set up?

About 21 minutes: one snippet, then OAuth logins for your ad accounts and your CRM. No developer and no data team required, and our team will do the setup with you on a call if you prefer. Tracking starts the day the snippet goes live.
