Use case

GA4 shows sessions and traffic. The revenue is in your CRM.

A lead gen deal closes weeks after the session ends. LeadJourney measures every channel in leads, pipeline and closed revenue from your CRM.

Same channel, same month. GA4 reports what happened on the website, which is its job. LeadJourney follows the same 89 leads into the CRM and reports what the channel returned.

The problem

GA4 measures the website. Your revenue happens after the website.

GA4 is good at what it was built for: sessions, engagement and on-site behaviour. In lead generation the money arrives weeks later, on a sales call and in a CRM stage change, and no web analytics tool can see that far.

Why GA4 cannot answer the revenue question

The website is only half the journey

  • GA4 measures sessions and events on your website, and its visibility ends at the form submission.
  • It never learns whether a lead qualified, stalled or closed, because those happen in the CRM, not in the browser.
  • An ecommerce purchase can be measured on-site; a lead gen deal signs weeks later, entirely off the website.
  • Consent banners, ad blockers and iOS remove a share of sessions before GA4 ever sees them.
  • Journeys that span weeks and devices fall apart into separate sessions, so the first ad click loses its credit.
  • Joining GA4 exports to CRM exports is a manual spreadsheet job, and it is stale the week it is finished.

The same channels with LeadJourney

Measured through to the CRM

  • Every lead is tracked as a person with a journey, not as a session, from the first ad click onwards.
  • Stage changes and deal values flow back from the CRM, so every channel reports pipeline and closed revenue.
  • The deal that closes weeks later still credits the campaign that started it, whatever the cycle length.
  • Tracking runs server-side and first-party, so ad blockers and iOS do not interrupt it. 95%+ accuracy.
  • Journeys stay intact across sessions, devices and months, stitched to the lead when the form is submitted.
  • One dashboard shows spend, leads, pipeline, revenue and ROI per channel, with no export in the loop.

The fix

Channels measured in revenue, joined from your CRM

Keep GA4 for site behaviour. LeadJourney adds the layer GA4 was never built for: the same channels and campaigns, measured in leads, pipeline and closed revenue read from your CRM.

Measure channels in money

The dashboard marketing runs on

  • Spend, leads, pipeline and closed revenue per channel, campaign, ad and landing page, in one view.
  • Open any lead and read its whole journey, from the first ad click to the deal in the CRM.
  • Organic, referral, email and AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity tracked as channels of their own.
  • Every platform judged on the same CRM revenue, instead of each pixel grading its own homework.

Connected to the CRM, not to the session

Where the revenue actually lives

  • Native integrations for HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio and more, plus a webhook for everything else.
  • Stage changes and deal values sync back automatically, so revenue lands on the campaign that earned it.
  • The real source is written onto the CRM record too, so sales sees where every lead came from.
  • Closed deals flow back to Meta, Google and LinkedIn as offline conversions, so bidding learns from revenue.

What changes

The questions GA4 cannot answer, answered from your own CRM

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney, not a data project. GA4 keeps measuring your website; LeadJourney measures what each channel returned.

  • Which channel produced the most closed revenue last quarter, not the most sessions?

  • What did each campaign return in pipeline, based on the deals in our CRM?

  • Which channels send traffic that becomes customers, and which only send sessions?

  • What does a customer actually cost us from Google Ads, from Meta and from organic?

  • Where did our three biggest deals this year really come from?

  • How many leads did AI engines like ChatGPT send us, and what did they turn into?

FAQ

What GA4 users ask before adding LeadJourney

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

Why does GA4 not show revenue for my leads?

Because in lead generation the revenue does not happen on the website. GA4 measures sessions and events in the browser, and its visibility ends at the form submission. The qualification, the sales call and the signed deal happen in your CRM weeks later, where a web analytics tool cannot look. That is a structural boundary, not a GA4 bug.

Do I have to replace GA4?

No, and most of our customers do not. GA4 stays the tool for site behaviour: content performance, engagement, user flows. LeadJourney adds the layer GA4 was never built for, matching ad spend to the leads in your CRM and the revenue they turn into. Budget decisions run on LeadJourney, site questions stay in GA4.

Why do my GA4 numbers not match my CRM?

Three reasons stack up. Consent banners, ad blockers and iOS remove a share of sessions before GA4 records them. Journeys that span weeks and devices break into separate sessions, so returning leads look like new direct traffic. And GA4 counts events while your CRM counts people, so the two were never counting the same thing. LeadJourney tracks the person and their journey, which is why its numbers reconcile with the CRM.

Is LeadJourney more accurate than GA4?

For lead tracking, yes, and you can verify it. Tracking runs server-side with first-party identifiers, so conversions are still recorded when cookies are declined or an ad blocker is active, at 95%+ accuracy. Transparent logs let you inspect every click, conversion and postback we record, so nothing is a black box.

Can LeadJourney track the channels GA4 files under direct?

Yes. AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude are tracked as channels of their own, and referral, email and custom channels like podcasts or newsletters each get a real source. Those journeys stop collapsing into direct traffic.

Does LeadJourney do everything GA4 does?

No, and it does not try to. GA4 is a general web analytics tool with reports LeadJourney has no ambition to rebuild, like engagement and content behaviour. LeadJourney is built for one job: connecting marketing spend to leads, orders, pipeline and revenue. Teams that need both run both.

Is LeadJourney GDPR compliant?

Yes. Data is processed and stored in the EU, we sign a data processing agreement, and tracking runs first-party and server-side, so it respects consent decisions rather than working around them.

How long does the setup take?

About 21 minutes: one snippet next to your GA4 tag, then OAuth logins for your ad accounts and your CRM. Nothing about your GA4 property changes, and tracking starts the day the snippet goes live.
