The gap

Podium knows the payment was collected. It does not know which ad started the conversation.

Podium's reports show leads, conversations and payments by the channel they arrived on. Getting the click, the campaign and the spend in, and the collected payment back to the platform, is the part nobody ships for you.

Podium attribution on its own

Accurate about the conversation, blind to the click before it

  • A lead's source in Podium is the channel the conversation arrived on: webchat, a text, a call, a social message. It is not the ad, the search or the referral that brought the person to your website before they opened the chat.
  • Webchat starts with a name and a mobile number. The UTM parameters and the click ID of the visit that led to it have no field on the contact, so the gclid is gone by the time the thread exists.
  • No ad spend enters Podium. Payments are reported per location and per period, but there is no cost against the lead, so ROAS and cost per paid job cannot be calculated.
  • Organic search, referral and AI search visits never reach Podium. The first it hears of a person is when they text, call or open the webchat.
  • A person who visited three times before texting is one conversation with one channel, so the visit that did the persuading earns nothing.
  • Collected payments stay in Podium. Nothing tells Meta or Google which of their clicks became a paid job, so bidding keeps optimising on chat starts, or on form fills.

Podium with LeadJourney

One journey per contact, joined to spend and to the collected payment

  • Every visit is tracked server-side as it happens, before a conversation exists in Podium, at 95%+ accuracy.
  • The anonymous first click is stitched to the contact the moment the webchat starts, and source, campaign and ad land on the contact automatically.
  • UTM parameters and click IDs are captured at click time and written onto the contact, without a form integration.
  • Spend is pulled from your ad accounts automatically, so ROAS and cost per paid job are live per location, channel and campaign.
  • Organic, direct, referral and AI search are tracked as first class channels next to paid, and every visit before the conversation keeps its place in the journey.
  • Every payment Podium collects goes back to the platform that produced the click as an offline conversion with the amount attached, so bidding learns which ads bring jobs that pay.

Every touchpoint

The whole journey into Podium, and the payment back to the ads

Marketing sees every touch before and after Podium, your team sees the source on the record it opens, and when the money arrives the amount goes back to the platform.

See every journey in LeadJourney

The dashboard marketing runs on

  • Every touchpoint of every lead in one timeline, from the first anonymous click to the payment Podium collects.
  • First touch, last touch and every model in between, so a LinkedIn first click and a Google brand-search close are one journey, not two leads.
  • Filter any campaign, ad or landing page to the leads it produced and the lead status each one reached.
  • The same journey written onto the Contact and the Lead in Podium, so your team sees where a lead came from before the first call.

Send it back to the ad platforms

Where the bidding learns from revenue

  • A payment Podium collects becomes a purchase event on Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn and Microsoft, matched on the click ID captured at the first visit.
  • The payment amount travels with the event, so value based bidding optimises on revenue rather than on form fills.
  • You choose which events go back: new lead, quote sent, payment collected, or all three.
  • Sent server to server, so there is nothing for an ad blocker or a declined cookie banner to remove.

How it works

Podium data in, attributed revenue back out

Both directions run on their own once connected. The first is what makes attribution across every channel possible at all. The second puts the answer on the contact your team already answers from.

  1. 1

Pull your leads and payments into LeadJourney

Your Podium data meets the acquisition data it was always missing.

    Podium

LeadJourney reads your Contacts, Conversations and Payments, with lead status, the channel the conversation arrived on and the amount collected, as each record changes.

    MetaGoogle AdsLinkedIn AdsYour website

Ad clicks, spend, sessions, webchat starts and click IDs are tracked server-side across paid, organic and AI search.

LeadJourney joins the two into one journey per contact, from the first anonymous click through the conversation to the payment Podium collected.

Attributed revenue, ROAS and cost per paid job, per location, channel, campaign and ad.

  2. 2

Write the Podium attribution onto every contact

So nobody opens a second tool to answer where a lead came from.

LeadJourney writes the finished attribution onto the Podium contact, only into the fields you mapped.

    Podium

First touch, last touch, campaign, ad and click ID land as fields on the contact, next to the conversation Podium already holds.

The Inbox shows where the lead came from next to the thread, so the person answering knows which offer the customer clicked.

Marketing sees the collected payment against the ad, per location, without asking the front desk.

The return path

Collected Podium payments, back in the ad account that earned them

A chat start is not a result. Once Podium marks a lead won, or collects the payment, the amount goes back to the platform that produced the click.

  • MetaConversions API

Lead captured, lead won and payment collected, with amount and currency

  • Google AdsOffline conversion import

Conversions matched on gclid, with the collected amount for value based bidding

  • LinkedIn AdsConversions API

Lead status changes and collected payments matched on li_fat_id

  • Microsoft AdsOffline conversions

Conversions matched on msclkid, with the collected amount

  • TikTok AdsEvents API

    Server-side lead and purchase events

You choose what counts as a conversion

Map any Podium lead status, or the collected payment, to any platform event. Lead captured, quote sent, won, paid, or all of them.

Value based bidding gets the real amount

The collected amount travels with the event, so tROAS strategies optimise on paid jobs instead of a flat lead value.

Sent server to server

No pixel to fire, nothing for an ad blocker or a declined cookie banner to remove.

Reporting

The questions Podium's reports cannot answer yet

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney rather than a spreadsheet the front desk fills in. Podium stays the source of truth for the conversation and the payment, and LeadJourney supplies the source that produced them.

  • Which campaign produced the jobs we got paid for last quarter, not just the chats?

  • What did a paid job actually cost us in ad spend, per location?

  • Which channel starts the conversations that turn into the biggest invoices?

  • How much collected revenue came from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini last month?

  • Which landing page starts the webchats that end in a payment?

  • Which campaigns buy chats that never become a lead?

LeadJourney and Podium reporting

Where Podium's reports end and LeadJourney starts

Podium's reports cover the conversation: leads by channel, response times, reviews and payments per location. The click before the conversation is not in Podium.

Before LeadJourney, we had no reliable tracking concept for our five-figure ad spend. We were manually building spreadsheet and CRM reports, inaccurate and time-consuming. Within two days, everything was set up. For the first time, I know exactly what I pay per lead and which campaigns actually bring in the best-qualified prospects.

FAQ

What Podium users ask before connecting

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

How is this different from the lead source Podium already shows?

Podium records the channel a conversation arrived on, which is the right answer for the Inbox and stays exactly as it is. LeadJourney answers the question before that one: which ad, search or referral brought the person to your website before they opened the webchat, what it cost, and how much the payment Podium collected is worth against that spend. The two sit on the same contact, so a report can show both the acquisition channel and the channel the conversation came in on.

Does Podium attribution work when the lead starts in the webchat?

Yes, and it is the case the integration is built for. The LeadJourney script tracks every visit on the pages where the webchat sits, so the ad click, the organic session and the click ID are already recorded when the person types their name and number. The contact is stitched to that journey the moment the webchat starts, and source, campaign and ad are written onto it automatically.

What about leads that text or call without visiting the website?

They still count. Podium records them and LeadJourney reads them, so they appear in the lead overview under the channel Podium gives them, and their payment is reported like any other. What they do not have is a web journey, because there was none to track. A call tracking integration such as CallRail adds the call itself to the journey, with the number the caller dialled.

Which fields does LeadJourney write into Podium?

On the contact: first and last touch channel, source and campaign, the ad, ad set and creative, every UTM parameter, the click ID from each platform, the landing page and referrer, the acquisition channel as a field your campaigns and reports can key off, the ad spend attributed to the lead, and a link to the full journey. You choose which of those are in scope before anything is written.

Will it overwrite fields my team already relies on?

No. Nothing is written to a field you have not mapped, and the direction of every mapping is yours to set. By default attribution goes to dedicated LeadJourney custom fields, and your existing fields and tags are left untouched, so the reports you already run stay comparable.

Can I send collected payments back to Meta and Google?

Yes, and it is the point of the integration. A won lead and a collected payment are sent to Meta through the Conversions API, to Google Ads as an offline conversion import matched on gclid, to LinkedIn through the Conversions API and to Microsoft Ads matched on msclkid, with the amount attached so value based bidding has a real number to optimise against. A refund takes the revenue back out. Events reach LeadJourney as they happen rather than in a nightly batch, and Transparent Logs show each conversion that was sent and when.

Does it work across several locations?

Yes. Every location in your Podium account can sit in one LeadJourney workspace, reported on its own and rolled up, and each one can be mapped to its own ad accounts so the payment collected in one branch goes back to the campaign that branch paid for.

A job is paid weeks after the first click. Is it still attributed?

Yes. The journey in LeadJourney has no attribution window, so the payment is credited to the campaign and ad that started the conversation however long the quote took to close. The ad platforms apply their own windows to the events they receive, so a late payment mainly improves their optimisation; the report that matches revenue to the ad lives in LeadJourney and on the Podium contact.

Do I need a developer?

No. Connecting Podium is a sign in and a field mapping screen, and most accounts are live in about 21 minutes. The one line of code goes into your site or your GTM container, next to the webchat you already have, and our team will do the mapping with you on a call if you prefer.

Is the Podium sync GDPR compliant?

Yes. Data is processed and stored in the EU, we sign a data processing agreement, and tracking runs first-party and server-side so it respects consent decisions rather than working around them. Financial, legal and other regulated industries are a core part of our customer base.

What does it cost?

The Podium integration is part of the platform rather than a paid add on. Plans are priced on tracked events instead of seats, so your whole team and your agency can share one workspace, and every plan starts with a 14 day free trial without a credit card.
