Use case

The influencer posts get impressions. You paid them for pipeline.

LeadJourney makes every creator a tracked channel: their links carry the attribution, and the fee sits next to the revenue as ROI.

  • Any link can be a channel

Illustrative numbers, real mechanics: the creator's links carry the attribution, your CRM supplies the pipeline, and the fee you paid turns the two into ROI.

The problem

Influencer marketing is not unmeasurable. It has just never been measured.

LinkedIn's analytics belong to the creator, measure engagement and stop at the platform's edge. Everything that decides whether the retainer was worth it, the visit, the lead, the deal, happens on your side of that edge, where nothing connects it back to the post.

Why the return is invisible today

Every tool stops at its own edge

  • LinkedIn's post analytics live in the creator's account, count impressions and reactions, and end at the platform's edge.
  • Many readers never click at all: they see the post, then search your brand or type the URL days later, and arrive as direct.
  • A UTM link helps for one session, then the visitor returns through another door and the thread is gone.
  • Redirects and in-app browsers strip parameters along the way, so even tagged clicks arrive naked.
  • Your CRM records the form submission, so the lead's source reads Direct or Website Form Submission.
  • So renewal decisions run on screenshots, likes and how the last call with the creator felt.

The same campaign with LeadJourney

Each creator is a channel of their own

  • Every influencer becomes a traffic channel you define, reported next to paid, organic and email.
  • The creator's links carry the attribution, and any source that can carry a link can be a channel.
  • Click IDs and journeys are kept for weeks, not sessions, so the lead who returns later still credits the post.
  • Every lead the creator brings in is attributed the same way as the big names, through to CRM pipeline.
  • The creator's fee is added as a channel cost, so the return covers everything you spend.
  • Leads, pipeline, revenue and ROI per creator, in a report you can open on the renewal call.

The fix

Every creator measured in the dashboard, every renewal decided on revenue

Two places, one answer. Day to day, each influencer reports as a channel in LeadJourney with the same columns as your ad platforms. When the retainer comes up, the answer is already sitting in your CRM's pipeline.

See every creator in LeadJourney

The dashboard the program runs on

  • One channel per influencer, next to Meta, Google and organic, with the same lead and revenue columns.
  • Open any lead a creator produced and see the full journey, from the post click to the closed deal.
  • Add each creator's fee as a channel cost, so cost per lead and ROI per creator calculate themselves.
  • Compare creators against each other and against your paid channels, in one report.

Decide the renewal on numbers

Where the budget conversation happens

  • The creator is written onto the CRM record, so sales knows the lead arrived through an influencer.
  • Pipeline and won revenue per creator come from CRM records, not from platform impressions.
  • A per creator report you can put in front of the creator, or the CFO, when the retainer is up.
  • Reports build themselves and arrive in Slack or email before the monthly call, not the night before.

What changes

The questions you can answer once every creator is a channel

Every one of these is a report in LeadJourney, not a spreadsheet project. The creators keep posting either way; the difference is whether the next retainer is a decision or a bet.

  • Which LinkedIn influencer actually produces leads, not just impressions?

  • What is the ROI on each creator, counting the fee against closed revenue?

  • Which post drove the most leads this quarter?

  • How many of the influencer's leads became pipeline in the CRM?

  • Should we renew this creator's retainer or move the budget to ads?

  • How does influencer traffic compare to LinkedIn Ads on cost per lead?

FAQ

What teams ask before tracking their creators

If yours is not here, our team answers in the chat within a few minutes.

How do I track leads from LinkedIn influencers?

Make each influencer a channel of their own. In LeadJourney you define a custom traffic channel per creator, and the links they post carry that attribution: any source that can carry a link can be a channel. Every visitor who arrives through a creator's link is tracked from that first click, and when they convert, the lead, the pipeline and the eventual revenue all report under that creator's name.

Can I see which specific post drove the leads?

Yes. Give each post its own tracked link and the breakdown follows: leads, pipeline and revenue report per creator and per post, the same way LeadJourney breaks organic LinkedIn down per post. That is how you learn that the case study post outperformed the hot take, and brief the next one accordingly.

What if people see the post but never click the link?

No tool can attribute a view that never becomes a visit, and we will not pretend otherwise. What LeadJourney measures is every visit that does happen, and journeys are kept across sessions, so a reader who clicks once and converts weeks later through brand search still credits the creator. Many teams also keep a "how did you hear about us" field; LeadJourney puts the measured journey next to that answer rather than replacing it.

How do I calculate influencer ROI when the fee is not ad spend?

Add the fee as a cost on the creator's channel. LeadJourney takes costs for channels that have no ad account, exactly for sources like influencers, content, SEO or print, so cost per lead and return per creator are calculated the same way they are for Meta or Google.

Do stripped UTM parameters break the tracking?

They are survivable, which is the point of tracking server-side. Click identifiers are captured on arrival and kept for weeks, not for one session, so attribution survives redirects, bookmarks and stripped parameters, at 95%+ accuracy through ad blockers and iOS.

Does the influencer need to do anything differently?

They post the link you give them, and that is all. There is no code on their side, no access to your data, and nothing about the tracking changes how the post looks or reads.

Does this work for creators outside LinkedIn too?

Yes. The mechanism is the channel and the link, not the platform, so newsletter sponsorships, podcast hosts, YouTube creators and affiliate partners are tracked the same way. Each one becomes its own channel with its own leads, costs and revenue.

Is this GDPR compliant?

Yes. Data is processed and stored in the EU, we sign a data processing agreement, and tracking runs first-party and server-side, so it respects consent decisions rather than working around them.
