LeadJourney vs AppsFlyer

The install and the lead are different conversions

AppsFlyer is built around the app install; LeadJourney around the form fill, the call, the CRM deal and the shop order. The rows are the features our pricing page lists, so the table shows where each model stops.

Credit where it is due

AppsFlyer is the measurement partner of more apps than anyone, and for an app business there is no substitute for an MMP. A team acquiring app users should have it on the shortlist. The table is about the other business, whose conversions are a form, a call or a deal in the CRM: there the install model has nothing to hold on to.

Pricing

Both price lists are public. Here they are side by side.

What the axis means for a lead gen business

Per-conversion pricing fits an app counting installs by the hundred thousand. It fits a lead gen funnel badly: low volume, high value per conversion, and the number that matters is the spend behind it. A team spending €20,000 a month sits on LeadJourney's €499 Growth plan, everything included. On AppsFlyer the cross-channel view is Enterprise, by quote.

Why teams switch

Why website and lead gen teams choose LeadJourney over an MMP

Three arguments come up in almost every evaluation. Each one is a set of concrete capabilities, not a slogan.

Built around the lead, not the install

  • Forms, calls and CRM stages as conversions

Every conversion type a lead gen business has, tracked out of the box, with the CRM stage as the signal that matters rather than a checkout event.

  • CRM revenue attribution

Closed revenue from your CRM matched to the campaign, ad and keyword that created it, so return on ad spend is measured on deals, not on lead counts.

  • Offline conversion tracking

Calls, meetings and signed contracts connected back to the exact ad that generated them, and sent to the ad platforms as the conversion they should optimise on.

  • The full journey of every lead

Every touchpoint from the first click to the closed deal on one timeline, with the CRM stage on it, for any single lead your sales team asks about.

  • Call tracking as an add-on

Static numbers per campaign or dynamic number insertion per visitor, on every plan, billed per number plus usage, and CallRail or Podium if you already run one. Every call lands on the click that made the phone ring.

The website tracked at the source

  • Server-side tracking, 95%+ accuracy

Conversions are recorded on your own domain and sent server to server, so ad blockers, iOS and declined consent lose far less of them. 95%+ of conversions captured.

  • Conversions API sync on every plan

Real conversions and revenue go back to Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft server-side, so their algorithms optimise on deals that actually closed.

  • Multi-touch attribution, every model

First click, last click, linear, position based and the rest on every plan, switchable without re-tracking anything; custom models on Enterprise.

  • Organic and AI search as sources of their own

Google, Bing, YouTube, LinkedIn, email, referrals and the AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek) attributed next to your ads at no extra cost.

  • Custom traffic channels and costs

Track affiliates, podcasts, newsletters, PR and print as channels of their own, add their costs by hand, and your return covers everything you spend.

Hosted, priced and set up for European teams

  • Frankfurt EU hosting

Frankfurt, Germany, with full EU data residency. GDPR compliant by design, with no transfer mechanism to document.

  • GDPR-native architecture

First-party tracking on your own domain, hashed identifiers and no third-party cookies, with an Art. 28 DPA on request. Compliant by default, not by configuration.

  • Public pricing by spend

Public tiers from €129 per month, set by your marketing spend and visible before you talk to anyone, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card.

  • 21 minute setup

From signup to live tracking in under 21 minutes, self-serve; an onboarding call with a tracking expert from Starter, and 14 days of setup support.

  • Ask Atlas, the AI marketing analyst

Atlas reads your campaign, lead and CRM data and answers questions in plain language; Atlas agents watch the data and send daily or weekly reports to email, Slack or WhatsApp.

Switching

From AppsFlyer to LeadJourney in 21 minutes

Nothing to export by hand. Add the script, connect the accounts, and run both tools for a week or two until the numbers agree.

  1. 1About 5 minutes

    Add the LeadJourney script

Paste one snippet into your site or your GTM container, alongside the AppsFlyer web SDK, if you run one. It starts recording sessions, click IDs and form fills immediately, and nothing about your current setup changes.

  2. 2About 10 minutes

Connect your ad accounts and CRM

Sign in to Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft Ads over OAuth, then connect the CRM where your deals live. Historic campaign data and spend are imported for you.

  3. 3About 6 minutes

Map your CRM stages to conversions

Choose which stages count as a qualified lead and which count as revenue. From then on every stage change flows back to the ad platforms, and you can switch AppsFlyer off once both tools agree.

Before LeadJourney, we had no reliable tracking concept for our five-figure ad spend. We were manually building spreadsheet and CRM reports, inaccurate and time-consuming. Within two days, everything was set up. For the first time, I know exactly what I pay per lead and which campaigns actually bring in the best-qualified prospects.

FAQ

AppsFlyer vs LeadJourney, your questions answered

The questions teams ask before choosing between a mobile measurement partner and a web attribution platform, answered the way we answer them on calls.

What is the actual difference between AppsFlyer and LeadJourney?

AppsFlyer is a mobile measurement partner: an SDK inside your app attributes installs, re-engagements and in-app events to the media partner that drove them, handles SKAdNetwork on iOS, deep links with OneLink and fraud protection, and its Web Attribution product extends the same model to websites. LeadJourney is the all-in-one attribution platform for the website side of a business, lead generation first, B2B and B2C, with e-commerce through the Shopify integration or a manually connected shop: it tracks on your own domain server-side, syncs spend from the ad platforms, follows every form fill, call and order through the CRM stages to the closed deal, attributes that revenue with every model including AI search as a source, sends stage changes back to Meta, Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft, and reports on all of it with Atlas. One measures the install, the other measures the lead and the deal.

We have a mobile app. Is LeadJourney an option at all?

Not for the app. LeadJourney has no iOS or Android SDK and does not attribute installs, so an app business keeps its MMP, and AppsFlyer is the biggest one. Where LeadJourney fits is everything that happens on your website and in your CRM: the landing pages your campaigns send people to, the forms, the demo bookings, the calls and the deals your sales team closes. Many businesses run both: the MMP for the app, LeadJourney for the website and the pipeline.

AppsFlyer has Web Attribution now. Why not use that for the website?

You can, and for an app publisher that also sells on the web it keeps everything in one account. What it does: cross-platform ROAS across web and app, cost from the ad platforms, server-to-server postbacks to Google, Meta, TikTok, Snap and X, and raw data to your warehouse. What it does not do is the CRM: a lead is a web event, not a record with a stage and a deal value, so cost per qualified lead, cost per closed deal and revenue per campaign are yours to build in the warehouse. It is also sold and onboarded through sales, with postbacks live in about two weeks by AppsFlyer's own account, where LeadJourney is self-serve and live in 21 minutes.

How does the pricing compare?

Both publish their prices. AppsFlyer's Zero plan is free but limited to owned media, Growth is pay as you go at $0.07 per attributed conversion after 12,000 free conversions in the first year, and Enterprise, where the cross-channel attribution, fraud protection and AI features live, is on quote; raw data, Protect360, Audiences and Data Locker are add-ons. LeadJourney prices by marketing spend: €129 a month up to €5,000 of spend, €249 up to €15,000, €499 up to €50,000, €799 up to €100,000 and from €999 above that, monthly or yearly, with tracking and attribution included, after a 14-day trial without a card.

Does LeadJourney handle SKAdNetwork, deep links or in-app events?

No. Those are MMP capabilities and LeadJourney does not claim them. It tracks the website with a first-party script on your own domain, server-side, reads the CRM and the shop, and sends conversions to the ad platforms over their Conversions APIs. If your paid media buys app installs, you need an MMP. If it sends people to a website to fill a form, book a call or buy, you need LeadJourney.

How long does it take to switch the website tracking?

About 21 minutes to be live: add the script, connect the ad accounts and the CRM, and the standard reports fill as data arrives. Historic campaign data and spend are imported from your ad platforms during setup, so the channel and campaign reports are not empty on day one. Run both tools for a week or two until the numbers agree, then switch the AppsFlyer web tracking off; the app SDK stays where it is.
